3000kVA Prime Power Rated Generators

In early 2021, AJ Power were asked to quote for 2 x 3000kVA prime power rated generators for an established Data Centre provider based in London.

Application

The end client is renowned for providing industry-leading data centre co-location services and is home to Europe’s most carrier-dense data centre ecosystem. Services provided include internet exchanges, cloud service, ISPs, ASPs and other IT functions. Following a successful tendering process AJ Power secured the order in April 2021.

Genset Overview

The emergency standby gensets are rated at 3000kVA prime power at 11kV, 50Hz. Engine model is MTU 20V4000G34F coupled to a Stamford HV804W alternator. The cooling system specified uses electric fans to achieve the airflow requirements specified by the client. The control system is the ComAp IG-NTC-BB synch system with IV5 display. Following assembly of the generators in Sept 2021, a successful Factory Witness Test was completed in late October 2021 with the end client in attendance.

Installation

The units were then shipped to site where one of our UK partners will complete the full project installation.
