After 38 years in the power generation sector, 99 countries, endless conferences, events and customer visits, Andrew Ridley has retired.
38 years in the Power Generation Business
In 2008 Andrew joined AJ Power to head up the Sales Team of the Massey Ferguson Power Series brand of generating sets.
His first meeting with the Massey Ferguson corporate team was at the Stoneleigh facility that he was to visit many times. He gave a PowerPoint presentation with a map of the world showing the number of countries he had visited in his working career - 70. Little did we know that he would add another 29 in his twelve years of representing the MF Power Series brand.
On his retirement, Andrew commented “I have had the good fortune to meet many great people and make some good friends across my career. During my time at AJ Power I have had the support of all the great staff and the confidence that I am selling a quality product.” When we asked him what he would miss he said “I’m going to miss climbing onto an aeroplane to meet new people or old friends. But after 49 years working I am looking forward to my retirement. “
Commenting on his retirement Sales Director Andy Mackey said “Andrew joined AJ Power with a wealth and knowledge regarding the diesel generator sector and his contribution to our overall sales department and the guidance he provided to team will be sorely missed. It has been my pleasure to work with Andrew and while I am saddened to see him leave I am confident that he will find the same success and happiness in retirement that he experienced during his time here. “
Everyone within the AJ Power Group wishes Andrew a well deserved retirement and we look forward to hearing about that 100th country he adds to his travels.
